Evelyn Evelyn "Have You Seen My Sister Evelyn" Music Video Directed by Hoku Uchiyama

This is a really charming animation produced for  band Evelyn Evelyn directed by Hoku Uchiyama, its hand drawn animation combined with live action. the traditional cartooon style is cute and evokotive. Ive known a lot of talented artits who have dabbled in animation but found it such a painful process they have abandoned it, so big credit to anyone who can quite frankly, stick it out.

have a look at  Uchiyama's website also

fence lace

i stubled across these copper lace drawings (first picture) find here http://web.mac.com/lievejerger/Site/HOME.html and although i didnt care too much for the detail i thought is that a fence, how lovely, it wasnt a fence but i googled fence lace and got the following 3 pictures from www.lacefence.com which then led me to the 2nd to last fence last Fence, a playground fence by designer Tejo Remy, now i see that the intention is to turn the fence into seating but my goodness, when i first saw it i though 'urgh' thats making me sick! subversive! surreal even......well its in the eye of the beholder. I think becuase the familiar identity of a fence has been distorted, like it likes in a crooked parallel universe, anyway its art tom me. following on from that i thought of those crafty yarn bombing types and did a little search, generally too cutesy for me but the last photo shows off its charm and simplicity.

Holt thoughts....well i think these internet stumbles are just nice to store here to return to. I do enjoy a bit of intervention in public spaces, the lace is potentially a nice device....to return to possibly

DIYbio mcr

Ok so now im no longer working with Blank Media Collective, my time is freed up to do non organisational fun stuff. since working with the mega Madlab, i heard about this movement called DIYBIO, and I met a nice clever person called Naomi Jacobs at the Tea Witter Picnic for User Generated Content, she was involved in the DIYbio and expressed that non science types (like me!) are welcome, this is a good thing as i totally wanted to go because of the bus stop swap thing which was absolutley stunorama and right up my street, have a look here for the outcomes

So I was super sick on the wednesday of the DIYbio, i was vomiting and EVERYTHING. but i forced myself to the meeting as no one likes to be thought of as a flake. i decided to go to the DIYbio meet up,  I was glad of a few familiar faces to sit with as i was WAY out of my depth, i mean im quite thick really when it comes to science and stuff, and i have a really poor attention span due to my undiagnosed ADD (social networking disorder) so i struggled with some of it, there were some big words and all. anyway they eventually got the snails out. Bex brought them and she is really charming and funny and brought a lot of life to the group, im not quite sure why they are breeding the snails, i think for pink shells? i shall follow but im not fully sure about how involved i want to be, but i joined the diybio google group (follow the links for it below) and someone called Acer (who i think is a big madlab cheeze) posted these amazing Green Porno short films that Isabella Rossellini made, now THEY are amazing, ive just watched them all on the night shift, was moved by the bedbug love making..... a MUST MUST MUST see here is the links....

i think im supposed to write something evaluating for my course..... hmmm well I am keen to try lots of different things but i am CAUTIOUS about committiong to projects, afterall i still need to sell my flat and i need to get a wriggle on about that. however its good to just be enjoying stuff and not curating, in fact it gives me more of a thirt to curate, but i want to spend more time developing something properly. The films just blow me away and is PROOF that ART IS BRILLIANT, and it makes me excited about creating, but reminds me that thoughtfulness IS important to me, i mean that such a simple idea but it was PURE Rossellini, she kept her brand in tact while being hilarious and er sensual. loved it. ICON!

Oliver Crabtree MMU Embroidery Degree Show

Im just making some notes to return to, the pictures here dont do his work justice, they were great with swathes of encrusted lushness,I love the Emroidery degree show, i ALMOST did it, its consistantly high quality accross the board and every year. this year i found it visually spectacular but not so much art wise like prev year such as Annie Harrision's hospital sheets http://www.annieharrison.co.uk/annie_harrison_Nexus_Installation.html which is one of my fave and most memorable grad shows of all time. anyways i dont want to detract from Crabtres's work, its a different beast, but my oh my it was very good, i hope he puts some decent pictures/footage on his website of the installation on his blog here http://olivercrabtree.wordpress.com/
